Vedic Arogya Ashram is situated at very spiritual land of Godawari in the foothills of Tapeshwor pilgrims with serene nature, mountain and river. Tapeshwor is believed where the Adiyogi (the first yogi) practice yoga and austerity. Our Ashram is more than a Yoga Retreat center, it is a complete healing ashram. Our teaching is not only limited to Asana practice, we aim to provide a holistic and rich experience for our guests including Yoga, Body Cleansing, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Manipulative Therapy (Massage and spa), sound healing and energy therapies (pranic and reiki healing) and Buddhist meditation.  We believe that all the knowledge that heals the mind and the body is welcome to serve our guests. We are lucky to be able to enjoy the Himalayas from our Ashram in the early morning.

8-Day Holistic Yoga Retreat: Heal Your Body, Mind and Soul
Yoga is the science to unite individual soul with cosmic consciousness. Here in this course you can discover a transformative journey of rejuvenation and self-discovery at our peaceful ashram. The course will help to unfold your yogic wisdom taking you into the inner journey of spirituality and well-being. We focus on asana, pranayama, meditation and also ayurveda and naturopathy. The course gives you a holistic approach of inner harmony and well-being.

Yoga Sessions: This course is focused on Hatha yoga and Ashtanga yoga. Hatha yoga include different Satkarma (body detox and cleansing practices), Asana, Pranayama and Meditation as described by ancient hatha yogic lineage. Astanga Yoga is focused on eightfold paths of ancient book Yoga Sutra. You will also get to learn different styles of yoga like Astanga Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga and Iyengar Yoga, etc.

Meditation & Mindfulness: Meditation according to ancient yogic text is referred as the unwavering steadiness of mind. Through learning meditation techniques you can have a lot of benefits in your daily from curing physical ailments to inner peace, mental well-being & spiritual awakening. In this course we are focused to deliver different scientifically researched ancient hatha yogic meditation, Buddhist meditation and Kundalini meditation. Our meditation techniques are mainly based on Patanjali Yoga Darshan and the teachings of Buddha.  

Yogic Lifestyle: In our Ashram you will experience yogic way of life from waking up at Brahma muhurta (the divine hour) to eating Satvik food, yoga nindra, Antar mouna Practice (Inner Silence). Each day we will practice two times yoga, meditation and pranayama. This helps to bring you more awareness into your life transforming your consciousness.

Nature Immersion: From our ashram you can view the Great Himalayas in the early morning when the sky is clear. The environment itself in our ashram is very serene and meditative. You can view the foggy hill and a Tapeshwar Mahadev temple from the ashram. Icchyashwor Temple is also located nearby the ashram. Fulchowki Hill which has the spiritual mythology and is also one of the highest point in Kathmandu Valley is nearby the ashram.

Our Ashram is more than a Yoga Retreat center, it is a complete healing ashram. We don’t focus our retreats on asanas only, we aim to provide an holistic and rich experience for our guests including yoga, body cleansing, ayurveda, body therapy through massages, but also reiki healing, and buddhist meditation.  We believe that all the knowledge that heals the mind and the body is welcome to serve our guests. 

The atmosphere and the location of the ashram enhance peace and relaxation. We are located in the middle of a green area without cars or motorbikes, clean and quite natural setting. We are lucky to be able to enjoy the Himalayas from our Ashram in the early morning.

The Ashram Yoga Style

The main yoga style at the ashram is based on Hatha Yoga in the way recommended by Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda.

Sivananda yoga style suggests a daily practice of the 12 Basic Asanas, 2 Pranayamas and Sun Salutation together with proper relaxation, awareness of the breath, body sensations and a focused mind. Proper exercise should be pleasant to the practitioner and beneficial to the body, mind and spiritual life.

In addition to this, we offer traditional hatha yoga practices, yoga nidra, a variety of pranayamas (breathing exercises), and meditation.

Some of our teachers offer different yoga styles such as vinyasa yoga, yin yoga, acro yoga and additional master classes or workshop. Contact us for more specific details!
