Annapurna Base Camp Yoga Trek / ABC, is well-known for the beauty of its landscape and up close views of the great Himalayan ranges. Mt. Annapurna I at 8091m/26,545ft is the 10th highest mountain in the world and the journey to its base camp is one of the most popular treks in Nepal. We start the ABC trek from Pokhara and pass through waterfalls, villages,  farmlands, beautiful rhododendron forests, and amazing mountainscapes before reaching the base of the mighty Annapurna I. We make our trek more mesmerising by adding early sunrise yoga practise and meditation during the trek.
 

You will experience a great 360 degree view of giant snow-capped mountains including Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Gangapurna & Machhapuchhre arranged around you almost precisely in a circle about 10 miles in diameter, with a deep glacier gorge in the center, across which you can see the spectacularly beautiful giant – Annapurna I. You will find yourself mesmerized right in the middle of this natural amphitheater, especially at sunrise when the rising sun casts a red glow on the mountain tops.

This trek offers you fantastic views of high mountains, landscapes of terraced fields and rhododendron forests, following the valley of the river Modi all the way to its source. You can witness the birth of river Modi – melting out of glaciers on the side of the mountain slopes, before it disappears under another glacier, to resurface as a true rapid mountain river just at the entrance to Machhapuchhre Base Camp.

The ABC trek is best for those with moderate trekking experience and can be enjoyed and managed by most people with average level of fitness. We make the trek special with practise of yoga and meditation everyday on the land of the great Himalaya. 

 

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01: Drive from KTM to Pokhara [823m/2,700ft]: 6-7 hrs drive. Our representative will pick up and disucss. Stay night at Hotel.

  • Day 02: Drive from Pokhara to Siwai and trek up to Chomrong [2170m]: 2 hr drive, 4 hrs trek

  • Day 03: Chomrong to Dovan [2600m]:5 hrs trek

  • Day 04: Dobhan to Machhapuchhre Base Camp [3700 m]: 5-6 hrs trek

  • Day 05: MBC to ABC camp: 2 and half hours trek, sunrise yoga practise. Back To MBC and walk to Dobhan: 5 hours trek

  • Day 06: Dovan to Jhinu Hot Spring (1780m) : 6 hours trek

  • Day 07 Jhinnu to Siwai 4 hours trek and drive to Pokhara : 2 hours

  • Day 08 Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu: 6-7 hrs drive. Stay night at Ashram or Free day.

 

Yoga Program

This Yoga Trek offers the incredible opportunity to practice one of the most healing arts of Asia: Yoga.

This wonderful Yoga Trek includes a daily class of Yoga, Pranayama (breathing exercize) and Meditation. Our experienced teacher will guide you through Hatha Yoga to help you best recover from the walking and let your energy flow in your body for spiritual connection as well. We believe that a daily yoga practice can prevent and heal many diseases, body and mind related. To be able to practice in a pure environment in the Himalayas is a great opportunity to reconnect yourself and grow spiritually. 

Yoga asanas: asanas are postures made to clean the body from all the toxins and to release any physical blockages that prevent our energy to flow freely in the body. The more blockages we have the more tension we create. 

Pranayama: this concerns breathing techniques. The purpose of pranayama is to unblock emotional nodes. When we accumulate stress, anxiety, and others mental pain, we create emotional blockages inside the body, which means that our energy cannot flow freely, and it increases the suffering. Pranayama helps to remove these blockages. 

Meditation: this is the ultimate practice of yoga. Through meditation, we enable the mind to come back to a state of peace, a state of silence. We create some space in the mind in order to be able to face life with more perspective, and so less anxiety and anger. Meditation brings people back to themselves, to who they really are and this brings a fresh meaning to life, a peaceful one.
